On the Road: Part 1

A few weeks ago hopped on a plane home to Minnesota. After a few sweet summer days with my family and oldest friends, Peter and I took off a cross country road trip. We were lucky to be sponsored by some quality brands along the way. We shot for Cub & Co , Sanborn Canoe, Fairibault Woolen Mill Co., & the George Frost collection of LuLu Frost. The first day of the trip was a long one. We drove from Minneapolis MN ----> The Badlands, SD. When we arrived the air was hot and sticky, the bugs were swarming, and sky was stormy. Instead of camping, we found a tiny motel right outside of the park. After finding a tiny bar named Wagon Wheel, a couple shots of whiskey, a pizza, and Peter almost winning $2,000, we photographed in our tiny, dimly lit motel room until weariness from the road set in. The sunrise was our wake up call. We gathered our things and climbed the rocky cliffs of the Badlands with the sunrise, before the campers and tourists had even opened their eyes. We photographed our beautiful Fairbault woolen blanket, a few of our jewelry pieces from Lulu Frost, & Poler Portland used an image of mine of Peter & me sipping coffee out of their Poler Stuff mugs. Before the heat of the sun set in we headed back to the motel for all-you-can-eat flapjacks served up by the sweetest woman. With our bellies full we hit the road for day 2….on to Big Horn National Park & Yellowstone.
