HOT DAMN that was an amazing week. I can honestly say our time in Tulum was one of the most soul-soothing weeks of my life. I decided to surprise Peter with tickets to Tulum on his birthday in June, and it seemed as though I blinked and November was here. Peter had never been out of the country, and I think it gave him the travel bug, as he's going to Prague tomorrow! Peter and I are both hard workers with too many ideas. We can get wrapped up in our projects, and deadlines (that we often times make for ourselves,) and can have trouble just taking a break. We were laughing about how we've traveled frequently together, but never actually had a "vacation." I told myself we weren't going to shoot for anyone on this trip but...my inner-self didn't allow that, and I set up jobs & collaborations anyway. We were hosted by the INCREDIBLE Papaya Playa Project, and I honestly don't have a single complaint about them. The property is breathtaking, well taken care of, and off the main road into Tulum making you really feel secluded in the jungle. The staff was insanely nice, helpful, & most spoke some english, but they were so warm that Peter and I felt comfortable speaking in Spanish nearly the entire trip. We spent our days sleeping in, waking up to a dip in the sea, adventuring for a few hours, drinking, eating, being beached whales in the sand, eating, drinking, oh, and did I say eating and drinking? I was kept well-dressed in flowing clothes that required no bra (my favorite kind) by two of my favorite brands; Amuse Society & Show Me Your Mumu. Endless thanks of them for that! I can't suggest taking a trip to Tulum enough, I want everyone to go experience this place! Though I must say, the best part of the entire trip was being with my love, my travel partner, my best bud for an entire week. There will be film photos to come (some from our night of way too much tequila so it'll be a surprise to us all.)
peace and light
