My babe, Peter, came to Portland to visit this past week. Whenever he's around everything is just that much better, a little sweeter, and he's always up for an adventure. While he was here he stopped into Poler Portland, and they gave him some Pacific Northwest "must-do's." I had been wanting to make my way up the coast to Astoria, and it just so happened that one of our recommended spots was right outside of Astoria in Seaview Washington. Sou' Wester is one of the sweetest places I've ever stayed while traveling. A vintage trailer park right alongside the coast, with some of the most friendly staff, and a make-yourself-at-home vibe. There was fresh eggs and juice in the community fridge, bikes and rain boots for rent, and a lounge room filled with old records and board games. We also had a great time sipping on champagne at The Depot, the tiny (but well known) restaurant right next door. Unfortunately, I couldn't try any of the food due to my shellfish allergy, but the adorable bartender made up for it along with the heavenly smell. Our time was spent exploring, climbing to the top of the city to see above it all, doing the truffle shuffle (from The Goonies) at the famous house, eating at the Colombian Cafe' (which thee best jellies I've ever tasted,) drinks at Fort George Brewery, a power hour, photographing, swooning over old records, and finding where river meets sea.
These are our first few rolls of film from the trip, but there's so much more to come. I cannot wait for this man to move out to Portland so we can officially start our lives of wanderlust and light.
Love the pictures and descriptions, My Sweet Girl !
